First, you will need to have a compatible Nextel phone. CCPS does not sell these phones, but rather we suggest that you purchase one from your local Nextel dealer or by purchasing one online at http://www.nextel.com/.
The current compatible models are i50sx, i55sr, i58sr, i85s. i88s, i90c-A, i90c-B, i95cl-A, i95cl-B, i730, i733. As newer models are introduced they should also be compatible.
You should also check the latest nationwide coverage map from Nextel to make sure that there is service where you conduct most of your business. Coverage maps can be found at www.nextel.com/services/coverage/index.shtml.
Step 2
Sign up for the Nextel voice service rate plan which is best for you and your business. It doesn't matter to us which service plan you select.
Step 3
Sign up with Nextel for one of their Total Connect data plans. There are several different data plans to choose from depending upon the amount of credit card usage you expect. We find that for most small businesses the least expensive data plan for $9.99 is fine.
Step 4
Download the free AIRCHARGEŽ J2MEsm wireless payment processing software onto your Nextel java phone. This free software is downloaded Over-The-Air right to your phone. You can receive this software directly from the Nextel web site.
Step 5
Credit Card Processing Services will assist you with the setup of your MasterCard and Visa merchant account.
